I highly recommend sticking to the pure Heat build. The Viral/Heat build losing against pure Heat if you can prime Viral. The mod Double Tap is important here because the damage bonus from it is a multiplicative bonus. Crux is here for the obvious Status Chance, which will stack more Heat but also, more importantly, will allow for full armor stripping significantly faster due to more Puncture Status being applied. I recommend using the Diriga with Tazicor or any other companion that can AoE prime at least Viral.
