What a successful hunt looks like
Learn the capture loop before chasing faster clears.
Eidolon hunts take place on the Plains of Eidolon at night. Your first goal is not a record pace. It is a controlled capture where the squad keeps enough charged lures alive, removes each shield, breaks every Synovia, and finishes the Eidolon without losing the capture.
Bring a reliable Amp, a frame that supports the hunt, a weapon capable of breaking limbs, energy restores, and Ciphers if you are still learning lure hacks. A coordinated duo or squad is easier to learn with, but the same loop works solo once your gear is ready.
Quick start: one clean capture
- Enter the Plains at night, collect the lures your group needs, and hack them.
- Charge each lure by bringing it near Vomvalysts in their energy form.
- Use Operator or Drifter and your Amp to remove the Eidolon's shields.
- Return to your Warframe, shoot one Synovia, and move clear of the magnetic pulse after it breaks.
- Repeat the shield and limb cycle while protecting the charged lures.
- During the final damage phase, confirm the lures are close and charged before finishing the Eidolon.
- For a Tridolon, offer the Brilliant Eidolon Shard at the shrine and repeat the loop for the next target.
Checklist
- The Plains are in the night cycle
- Amp, focus school, restores, and limb weapon are equipped
- The squad has agreed who collects and watches lures
Read the fight instead of racing it
Every Eidolon alternates between an Operator shield phase and a Warframe damage phase. Vomvalysts can restore shields, so clear or control them before they turn a stable phase into a long one. The Eidolon's attacks become easier to survive when the squad stays deliberate, watches the ground, and saves mobility for the attacks that force movement.
A lure becomes charged after absorbing enough Vomvalyst energy. Keep it close enough to tether a broken limb, but do not drag it through every attack. The lure handler should make positioning predictable for the rest of the squad.
Simple squad roles
Assign one player to lures, one to shield support, and one to limb damage. In a smaller group, combine roles without abandoning lure checks. Clear calls such as shields down, limb marked, and lures charged prevent most failed captures.
Operator preparation
Use the strongest Amp and focus tools you currently own, then improve them as hunts become familiar. Consistent positioning, Void Mode, and clean shield uptime matter more while learning than copying a speed-run setup you cannot yet support.
Loadouts and KnightFrame build slots
Volt is a dependable hunt frame because Electric Shield can support both Amp shots and weapon damage. Other frames can cover healing, lure safety, energy, or raw limb damage. Build the squad around the jobs it must perform rather than four copies of the same role.
For the limb weapon, favor accurate burst damage and a setup tuned for the Eidolon's defenses. Your Amp should feel comfortable at the distance where your squad holds the target. Use an Arcane and focus setup that you can activate reliably, not one that only works in a perfect sequence.
Limb weapon
Leave room in the loadout for damage, critical stats, and the elemental coverage your chosen weapon needs. Test whether you can hit a Synovia cleanly before committing to a full night cycle.
Amp and focus
A working Amp progression is better than waiting for a perfect one. Explain which fire mode the build uses, how it is aimed, and what triggers its damage bonuses.
Advanced consistency
Speed comes from removing dead time. Park lures where they remain useful, pre-position for the next limb, and make sure the shield breaker and limb shooter are never waiting on each other. Practice one transition at a time.
For solo runs, use a repeatable lure route and protect it even when the route costs a few seconds. For duos, let one player own lures and general support while the other prepares shield and limb damage. In a full squad, decide before loading in who handles lures, shields, limbs, and support.
Troubleshooting failed hunts
The target died instead of being captured: the required charged lures were missing, too far away, or destroyed.
Shield phases take too long: clear nearby Vomvalysts, coordinate shield fire, and check that your Amp bonuses are actually active.
Limbs will not break cleanly: move to a clearer angle, reduce weapon spread, and test the build outside a rushed squad.
The squad runs out of energy: bring restores, improve role timing, and avoid recasting abilities that are already doing their job.
