My recommendations are to invert your cast abilities for Vauban. Nourish is good for viral status which applies to flechette. Augment is good for his 3rd since it scales with enemy level. Another good build

This is a very fun build that has pretty good survivability using circumvent for most steel path content. to proc arcane hotshot i use a sister hound with synergized prospectus and manifold bond but diriga with manifold bond works as well. I recommend running the arcane melee careen on your melee to cc when rolling through enemies.

My Focus School of choice is Zenurik for the energy, but feel free to use any you're comfortable with. Set down a pair of Brightbonnets and get jumping to bolster up your energy. With luck, one of them should trigger Arcane Steadfast, at which point you just lay down as many Photon Strikes as you can. Remember, you just have to hit 5 or more enemies to activate Photon Repeater, not kill. Try to group up as many enemies as you can with your Tether/[Flechette] Grenade (I use inverted controls) or Vortex and then hit with a Strike. If Steadfast has kicked in, go dummy with those three freebies. Weapon-wise, anything that benefits from grouping, like Torid or Tonkor, is a good option. However, apparently Scourge's headshot-priming alt-fire also works on Photon Strike, dealing crazy amounts of damage. Even moreso if Repeater has been activated. Not to mention you can regain even more energy courtesy of Primary Exhilarate, which is proc'd courtesy of Scourge's alt-fire.
